Santa Barbara Here I Come!

So I planned on taking the weekend off.....until I came across these shots of a friend of mine. I fell in love instantly and had to share with all of you!

If you have not heard of Take Our Photo, then you must check out their website and or facebook. They take incredible shots! They defiantly have a unique eye that I am drawn too. Its really hard to impress me with photos as I don't typically like a photographer that shoots the norm. I like a shot that is off to the side, a angle you would of never thought to do, or a piece of a body, object, or animal. I'm weird, I know!

However, when a shot is styled in a cute fun way, or has a great background. I'm hooked, instantly!

Featured Wedding Friday!

Today is Friday and the weekend is here again!! Most southern california weekends are filled with amazing weddings happening in unique venues across the state.

Here is one, that of course I favor more than others, as I had a part in styling this wedding.... it was featured on one of the best wedding blogs out there, WEDDING CHICKS.

It took place at a magical private estate here in San Juan Capistrano, The Folly. This venue is like no other, you step through the gates, into what feels like a chapter of the SECRET GARDEN.

It was a splash between old hollywood and vintage. The unique vintage furniture and decor was rented from Archive Vintage Rentals. The amazing flowers were more like a work of ART, which were created by none other than Krista Jon from Krista Jon Couture Designs.

This wedding originally was a concept for a styled photoshoot that turned into a real wedding. Kiki Lee Herr and team (myself included) at Archive Vintage Rentals and Krista Jon Couture Designs had three weeks to bring this concept full force and make this wedding happen.

With support of amazing vendors such as Erika of Delphine, Candee by Sandee, Weddings by SML, Ryan Ray Photography, Dessy and Wedding Chicks, to name a few. We were able to transform The Folly into Janelle's dream wedding.  

One more added touch was that the whole transformation was filmed for an upcoming tv pilot involving, Kiki Lee Herr, Regina Atkins, Krista Jon, and Karli Jessen (style{d} by karli).

My inspiration today is coming from my brown haired, brown eyed, 23lbs of style.
She runs by me in her mamas heels, hot pink head band, and Elmo in hand. Her innocence is shocking as to where she comes up with her next move.
This brings me to my project of the day.

Baby/Toddler Room Decor Ideas!

As I sit and contemplate how I will decorate her new toddler room. I come to a cross roads.
Do I design around her or me???

Clearly, as I watch her play, she has her own style and chicness that pours out of her and it confirms the direction I must go.

Flor tiles are perfect for kids rooms, if you spill you take the square out and wash it or buy a new one to replace. Very practical!

Can I add Photographer to my resume?

style{d} had one eventful weekend, starting with an inspirational photo shoot I did on New Years.

I showed up at my dear friend Jill's house in Newport Beach with my camera in hand, props and accessories.

Jill opened the door and I shouted "Lets have some fun!"

We ended up hauling furniture all over her place....her son showed up in this old Chevrolet car and I thought why not use it as a prop.

I am in LOVE with Jill's Antique Gold Sofa!

 

Pretty Sure, I see her sitting in my living room.....then I sadly wake up and realize she is just a DREAM!

 Don't you think she would be a PERFECT backdrop for any occasion??
